The Results Are In!!

A bowl of chili! the noodles are on the bottom and the leftover cornbread is sprinkled on top. I added a noodle on top for presentation.  :)

The Chili! it doesn't look very appetizing , i know, but it tasted pretty good!!

The cornbread! I baked it in a 9x13 pan, let it cool, then used a heart shaped cookie cutter. It is valentines day after all :)

The heart shaped pasta!!

Now For My Family's Ratings. Drum Roll Please! . . . . . . . . .

After dinner i gave each person a piece of paper and a pencil and asked them to write what they thought about the meal, and to write truthfully. :) Here's what i got.

DAD: "Yuck! who invented this stuff anyway?! it wasn't the worst I've ever had, but that's like saying i remember a good rancid steak i once ate."
 rate: 4.5

MOM: "I would have liked more. i didn't like cornbread growing up. Must be my taste buds grew up!! :)" rate: 7.5

SAVANNAH: (age 17) "Wish there was more. It wasn't bad but it wasn't mom's. I give it a 5 not bad, right in the middle. Again I wish I had more. Also, chili isn't supposed to have noodles. Just saying. Ok, I'm finished. Love, your sis, Savannah."
 rate: 5

CALVIN: (age 13) "It was ok but quite spicy. The corn bread cooled the chili down."
 rate: 7

SARINA: (age 11) "It was very good. The corn bread was a 7 and the chili was a 7 so over all it was a 14." rate:7

SADIE: (age 9) "It was good. The noodles were so good! and the broccoli was ok, I did not like it.
 rate: 6

SOPHIA: (age 7) "I give it a 100 it was awesome!"
 rate: 10

So, the overall rating from 1 to10 is a 6.7 That's pretty good in my book :)

Personally I don't mind chili. It's not my favorite thing to eat, but it's not my least favorite either. I think i did an ok job on this meal, and I'm looking forward to preparing the next one! Hope you enjoyed reading this! And i hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day!!

  1. Wow, your dad was really sparing your feelings, huh? You know what the best part is about cooking? As you get more and more used to it, you just throw out the recipes and go by memory and do what seems good. Some days, the steak does come out rancid. Some days, it comes out so yummy you don't want to share. Then of course, there's the day company is coming over, you burn everything, throw a living fit, and your loving husband has to save the day before the house burns down. No, that's never happened to me. Never.
Loving the blog!! Can't wait to see whats for dinner for the rest of the week!

  2. HAHAHAH yea, he's a pretty honest fellow! tells it like it is alright :) it's ok, I don't mind that much. Actually I like cooking without a recipe. I think it's kinda fun throwing things together just to see what comes out. :) Mom on the other had prefers when i use a recipe. I kinda don't blame her :) And thanks!! I'm glad someone enjoys reading it :)
